Martin Higginson is the director and main trainer for Best Practice East.
Martin worked in the publishing business for many years after completing his degree at Kingston University. He has worked in Advertising Sales and Management for Business-to-Business publications, specialist sports consumer titles as well as regional newspapers. The knowledge and experience of training that he gained led him to a second career in Education. After completing his PGCE qualification at University of East Anglia he taught in number of Secondary schools reaching Head of Department level as well as acting as a Staff Governor. He then moved into the Higher Education sector becoming a lecturer in Business and Travel & Tourism for University Campus Suffolk and West Suffolk College. As a Course Director for Level 3 Business, Course Leader for BA (Hons) Professional Studies, and a member of the BA Business Management lecturing team, he lectured on a number of Business Management topics with Entrepreneurship, Managing Innovation and Creativity, and Management Strategies his particular specialities. It was through delivering Services to Business courses for the college that he discovered the opportunities for training to commercial organisations. In early 2014 he set up Best Practice East to deliver training full-time using his knowledge of how individuals learn to good effect. He is a firm believer in life-long learning and is well regarded as engaging and personable facilitator
Martin also delivers CIPS courses for Anglia Business Academy in Norwich and Cambridge, ILM courses for West Suffolk College, and various Professional and Personal Development courses for Green Shoots Learning Ltd of Ipswich
